I am qualified to degree level having gained a BSc (Hons) Person-Centred Counselling from the University of Derby. I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and an accredited member of the National Counselling Society.
Aside from my private practice, I work as a school counsellor at a local high school counselling 11 to 16-year-olds and as an adult counsellor for a domestic abuse charity. Prior experience includes working for a well-known national mental health charity as a counsellor working with a wide variety of ages and presenting problems and training delivery of mental health and suicide awareness courses.
I have experience of counselling children with varied emotional needs, from ADHD and Autistic Spectrum Disorders to those suffering from anxiety, depression, family breakdown, abuse, bereavement, bullying, self-harm, low self-worth and anger problems.
Away from my work as a counsellor, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends and my rescue pets. I am owned by Ben the dog and my cats Lily and Daisy. I like gardening, walking, reading, TV and chocolate!
I take my ongoing training and personal development seriously, and feel there is always so much more to learn. To expand my knowledge and help my clients as best I can, I have completed further training in the following…
